Articles for IMM would encompass all genres of music and would focus on everything from
interviewing local and national artists to reviewing and critiquing new music, from introducing a
new band or artist to highlighting upcoming events.  Every article submitted will be considered
for publishing once research into the article has been conducted.  All “Youth Writers” will be
considered IMM staff for one year with an annual party/fundraiser at year’s end. As reward for
submitting an article for publication, youth will receive concert tickets, CDs, and other musically
inspired items.

IMM consists of two parts: first is the local section.  This section of the magazine is comprised of
local stories about high school band winners, local musical acts, and choir rehearsals.  The
second section is devoted to national news including reviews, concert dates, opinion
segments, billboard results, new releases, and major artist interviews.  Distribution is primarily
based on the amount of funding but will start as a quarterly publication. Purchase price will be
determined based on publication costs and readership. Atlanta, New York City, Boston and
Tampa will serve as the lead production cities eventually extending to other major cities
including Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Austin, St. Louis, Detroit,
Baltimore and New Orleans.

As one of the only musically inspired quarterly magazines in the country written 100% by youth,
IMM addresses the music industries’ role on our youth by giving them a voice.
With the influence youth have over the musical landscape, Inner
Music Magazine (IMM) attempts to serve as a voice among these
musically-astute teens.  IMM is a magazine written entirely by
youth under 21 and is subject for distribution nationally.  Focusing
primarily on creative writing and music appreciation with an
introduction to journalism, IMM will also serve as a platform to
youth interested in production, graphics, photography, research
and layout.
